We have to admit, we're not huge fans of Black Friday.
It's a little ironic, isn't it? You have a humble day spent with family and designed to remember all the thing's we're grateful for, only to be followed by a chaotic day of spending and greed.
But at the same time, who doesn't love a good Black Friday Sale??
SO- we like to do things a little different around here! For those of you who have been with us for a while, you remember that for the past two years (since the beginning!) we have donated 5% of our profit from our Black Friday/Cyber Monday Sale to a charity in need.
It's become one of our FAVORITE traditions here at Geode Swimwear, so of course we had to continue that tradition again this year!
Each year, we go to our instagram followers to help us decide which charity we should donate to-and it's such a hard decision! There are so many AMAZING charities that do incredible work, or have directly impacted us or someone we love.
We had hundreds of ideas submitted this year, but ultimately, we decided to go with Shriner's Children's Hospital.
Shriner's Hospital is a Non Profit hospital that provides high quality pediatric care for children and families, regardless of their ability to pay. They care deeply for their patients and are continually conducting research to expand knowledge, develop new treatments, and help educate other doctors.
As soon as we read about this foundation, we fell in love. And as we announced we were working with them, we began to hear from various followers, family, and friends about how Shriner's has directly impacted their lives, which was so amazing to see!
This past giving Tuesday, we added up our profit and are SO excited to report that we were able to make the LARGEST donation we've EVER been able to make to a charity! It was SO COOL.
From the bottom of our hearts, we are so grateful for all our our customers and their orders that made this wonderful donation possible. Although a small act, it feels so good to be doing what we can to make a difference in the world.
